If after the next general election Gordon Brown steps down as party leader will he still be an MP?

If Gordon Brown holds on to his seat in his constituency yet the Labour party loose the next general election, which will almost certainly result in Gordon Brown resigning as party leader, will he also have to resign as an MP, or will he retain this title?|||Depends if he is elected.|||May be but looking at the inept fool he will just hang his head in shame and retire from public life.





As he should do, he %26amp; b_lair have failed the UK electorate on so many levels.|||If he gets re-elected in his constituency, he will still be an MP, regardless od which party wins the election.|||No he would just go on to being on the backbenches of politics|||If he wins his seat in Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath, he will still be an MP. He can resign the party leadership without resigning his MP seat.

Gordon Brown will hold his safe seat in Kirkaldy and Cowdenbeath. He has an enormous majority and he is a popular constituency MP, despite being a hopeless PM.





Please, Redmonk, don't go betting on anything to do with the 2010 General Election. Your total lack of any perspective and assumption that everyone must think like you will lose you a fortune.

Brown is 1/100 to win in Kirkcaldy. So Redmonk, why not have a bet on the SNP to beat him at 16/1. Or for better value, lose your money at 100/1 by betting BNP!
