How do you get to be a political party leader?

How can you get to be a candidate to be a leader? How do you get elected to be the leader of a political party? Detailed info please? Thanks!|||Money and a platform. But mostly money.|||Money, connections, and apparently dancing naked on bar stools while out of your mind on drugs and booze.|||Learn to speak well in public, oops, that only works for good actors. OK, smile when lying if caught, blame the other guy.|||promise EVERYONE EVERYTHING|||This is just a wild guess, right "off the cuff" so to speak but my answer would be:

Lying, Cheating and Back-stabbing?

- Oh, this is for CANADA! Well, why didn't you say so.... In that case the right answer would be:

1. First join the Liberal Party

2. Accept bribes from anything that moves....

3. Bribe everybody you can find.....

4. Then you can do the "Lying, Cheating and Back-stabbing" part...

(Oh, while you are at it, if you can find a great way to TOTALLY SCREW Quebec and the West at the same time, well, that won't hurt either......)|||Ok, you usually have to be party big-wig.

Every 2 years they pick a party chairperson usually. Sometimes 4 years, but usually 2.

The nominating committee made up of a few national committee members picks a few names and puts them before the national committee. Then the national committee votes on who will be the new Chair. Unless you have the right connections to the nominating committee, you usually won't get the chance to be the new chair. Although, it is possible sometimes to nominate from the floor.

This is not usually done at the national conventions, but on odd years to carry the party through the next election.

At least, that's how it is here in the US. Other places it is different.|||They are elected by THIS secret and evil group that's been in control of everything for far too long!...
